Hi, My name is Saira Ambreen. I am working on this website to collate the resources in the field of speech therapy, especially for Urdu-speaking SLPs. If you have any material that might be beneficial to this group, please don't hesitate to approach me. I am thrilled to work on the development of this website and eagerly seek the contribution of the SLP community in this process.

My Background
Here's some background information about me. I did MSc in Human Development & Family Studies (HDFS), and MS in Speech & Language Pathology from University of the Punjab, Pakistan. I worked as a clinician and later as a Lecturer of Speech & Language Pathology in Pakistan, between June 2016 and October 2018. Later, I joined the University of Hong Kong (HKU) for PhD in Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS). My doctoral project focused on the development of speech sounds and phonetic complexity in typically developing Urdu-speaking children. As part of this project, I worked on the development of the Urdu Speech Assessment Test (USAT) and the adaptation of the Index of Phonetic Complexity (IPC-Ur).
I have a keen interest in the development of new tools and resources for assessment and intervention. I am also interested in the adaptation of available resources for the Urdu-speaking population. This process entails a delicate balance of maintaining the integrity of the original content while ensuring that it becomes an optimally effective tool within the specific context of the targeted language. Discussion and collaboration are warmly welcomed.
